Tomcat i815T (S2080) FAQ Updated 07/07/03
- a. I have TYAN CD v.3.10. I followed instructions on how to install ICH2 LAN drivers, but I am still getting an exclamation mark in device manager.
b. I have TYAN CD v.3.10. I tried manually
installing ICH2 LAN drivers for INTEL® PRO/100 VE DESKTOP ADAPTER (ICH2 LAN), but the system prompts that WINDOWS WAS NOT ABLE TO INSTALL THE DRIVERS FOR THIS DEVICE.
The above issues can be fixed with Intel's latest ICH2 v.5.03 drivers. You can download the
full drivers from TYAN's FTP here
or the minimum drivers from Intel's website
here.
- Is there any precaution regarding types of fans used on S2080?
Yes, you
can't use fans rated higher than 300 milliamps on fan port headers 2, 3 or 4. The use of any fan beyond this range on these ports can damage your motherboard!
- Why when I use 3 sticks of PC133 memory my system will not work?
The
actual 82815ep MCH chipset spec calls for support up to 2 sticks of double sided memory or 3 sticks of single sided memory.
- When Installing Win 98se, ME or Windows 2000 on the S2080, installation hangs at "Hardware Detection". Mouse can move around the screen but the keyboard is locked up? Is there something
special that must be done?
There are 2 possible solutions to the problem:
1) For Win 98se and ME go into the Bios under the Power Management option and disable the ACPI. Leave APM enabled.
2) For Windows 2000 users (or 98se or ME that want to impliment
ACPI) please use TYAN BIOS 1.04
